Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of CraftBid, whether you're posting a project or bidding on one. Last updated at launch — we'll notify you of material changes.
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using CraftBid, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.
2. The platform
CraftBid connects homeowners posting renovation projects with contractors who bid on them in a reverse auction. We are a marketplace, not a party to the renovation contract itself.
3. Homeowner obligations
You agree to provide accurate project details, respond to bids in good faith, and pay for completed and approved work as agreed with your chosen contractor.
4. Contractor obligations
You must maintain valid trade licensing, VAT registration, and public liability insurance for as long as you hold an active account, and bid only on work you are qualified and available to perform.
5. Fees and payments
Any platform fee will be disclosed clearly before you accept a bid or subscribe to a contractor plan. We never charge fees that were not shown to you upfront.
6. Bidding rules
Each new bid on an active auction must be lower than the previous bid. Bids are binding offers; a contractor who wins a bid is expected to honour the price, timeline, and terms submitted.
7. Liability and disputes
CraftBid facilitates the introduction between homeowner and contractor but is not liable for the quality of work performed. Disputes are handled through our dispute resolution process described on the Trust & Safety page.
8. Termination and governing law
Either party may close their account at any time. These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without prejudice to your statutory consumer rights.
